20th January 2011
Blackboard Learn was launched at the Ulster e-Learning Conference at the Jordanstown campus today.
This involved a Blackboard Learn exhibition stand in the main assembly hall and the delivery of Blackboard Learn Assessment and Feedback workshops.
Blackboard Learn Exhibition Stand
Andy Jaffrey and Kristina Reilly where on hand at the Blackboard Learn exhibition stand to demonstrate the new Blackboard Learn environment and answer any staff queries.
The Ulster VLE upgrade promotional postcard was distributed at the stand. Blackboard Learn support materials were available to view, including an overview of the environment, a map of the tools and workflow documents. These support materials are available to download here.
Blackboard Learn Assessment and Feedback Workshop
Alan Masson and Fiona McCloy delivered three Blackboard Learn Assessment and Feedback Workshops to 60 participants.
This workshop previewed the Blackboard Learn Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), which will replace the current Ulster VLE, WebCT, in September 2011. The session showed how the Blackboard Learn tools and technologies could be used to help improve assessment and feedback practice. The workshop activities gave participants the opportunity to explore an Assessment and Feedback Support Area in the Blackboard Learn environment and to think about how the technology can be applied in practice. This session was evaluated so that improvements can be made for future training and support efforts. Early feedback analysis shows that staff found this session useful.
The session materials are available below.
