Important Monday April 16th
Starting Monday April 16th a pop-up box will advise users they are using an expired certificate when accessing any feature utilising a Java applet e.g. Multiple File Upload, Chat Tool and the rich text editor. Users will be prompted to either “Allow” or “Deny” the usage of the expired certificate. Blackboard users should choose to “Allow” the certificate, the pop-up should not re-occur. If the user chooses “Deny”, the feature will not work until “Allow” is selected. It is anticipated that a patch will be made available for this shortly.

Important Security issues with older versions of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) have led to some browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer blocking the JRE plugin. As a result some Blackboard tools may fail to load. To address this security issue, Blackboard users are advised to update their Java Runtime Environment to the latest version. Full instructions are available in the Java installation guide.
